A new "Lemmiwinks" episode was supposed to have aired two weeks ago. In its
place, they aired the episode in which Cartman impersonates a robot.

Anyone have any info on what happened to the new Lemmiwinks episode and if it
will eventually be broadcast?

My guess is, they never intended to do it and the promo was a big joke. :)

It was cancelled due to its subject matter, out of respect for the
victims of that terrible tragedy you've heard about.

It was the only respectable thing to do after what happened. Can you imagine if
that would have aired? WOW.

It seems obvious to me that they couldn't agree with Comedy Central on
cuts that would enable them to air this episode in the current
political climate - the one they parodied in the first episode this
year - the climate that finds Howard Stern threatened with
million-dollar fines for 3-year old broadcasts because Janet Jackson
flashed a tit and George Bush needs to appease his conservative base.
Somebody made the decision not to bring FCC heat down over something
that would have been more disturbing than the usual South Park
episode. We'll probably see the episode next year, after the election
cycle.

Does this Lemmiwinks episode even exist? Couldn't it just be a
hoax that Trey and Matt made up as a parody of how some TV shows get so
hyped up. Hype to death this phony ep and then pull the rug out when
its supposed to air.

The first I heard of it was the announcement when they didn't show it as planned.
But then I don't pay a lot of attention and just sit down to watch when new eps
come on.

From what I read from southparkstudios.com, the episode didn't air because it
wasn't ready yet.

You see, the Lemmiwinks episode will be like the Great Expectations episode
from season 4, in that it requires a lot of work in the area of new characters
and backgrounds. Thus, like the Great Expectations episode (and the anime
episode), it's going to take longer to produce this episode compared to a usual
episode of South Park.

I think the whole thing was a huge scam
There is no gap in the production codes yet, and they are saying on the
official site that it will not air at all in Season 8. But once the idea is
off the ground, it must keep same code, so I think it was just a joke to
tease hardcore fans.

Like the people who say I wanna see more Towelie or the Simpsons fans who
say I wanna see more of Martin or something like that. They just took that
to the nth degree to see who would care about a Lemmiwinks episode, most of
us did, they are laughing at us as I type this.

It's the brilliant "You Can't Come" technique, of the young financial genius
Eric Cartman.
